Freedman gives Nottingham Forest injury update ahead of Preston game

Nottingham Forest will take on Preston North End away from home in the Championship on Tuesday evening.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has told BBC Radio Nottingham that goalkeeper Dorus de Vries and attacker Ryan Mendes will train today.

The duo’s fitness will be assessed during the training session, and it will then be decided if they can play a part in the Championship game against Preston North End away from home on Tuesday evening.

Freedman has also said that defender Eric Lichaj is fit enough for the match at Deepdale.

Forest will head into the game against Preston on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday away from home in the Championship.

The Reds are 17th in the league table at the moment with 14 points from 14 matches, just four points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Preston currently find themselves in 18th place in the Championship table with 13 points from 14 games.

Simon Grayson’s side will head into the match against Forest on the back of a goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers at home in the league.
