West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to state that Winston Reid could be back to face Everton next weekend.
The Hammers lost 2-0 to Watford on Saturday, and Reid's absence was certainly felt as Odion Ighalo swooped twice to give Watford the win.
James Tomkins failed to clear a cross for Ighalo's second, whilst his centre back partner James Collins was sent off for a rash foul on the Nigerian striker.
Manager Slaven Bilic now needs his star defender back to full fitness, with Reid nursing a knee injury which has kept him sidelined for around a month now.
The New Zealand international enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, particularly with a sensational performance against Manchester City, and fans are keen to see him make his return to the starting line-up.
With the Hammers needing a response against Everton next weekend, co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to state that he hopes Reid will be fit enough to play against the Toffees.
I'm hoping that Winston Reed will be available for the Everton game. dg https://t.co/KxnTzO4046— David Gold (@davidgold) November 1, 2015
Reid's possible return as well as Angelo Ogbonna's comeback from injury gives manager Bilic options in defence, which will certainly be needed considering Collins' upcoming suspension, providing the Hammers with a timely boost after Saturday's defeat.
