Aston Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the appointment of Remi Garde as the first-team manager.
Garde has been handed a three-and-a-half-year contract by the Premier League club.
The Frenchman succeeds Tim Sherwood, who was sacked by Villa last month following a disappointing start to the season.
The Villans are at the foot of the Premier League table with four points from 10 matches, just four points behind 17th-place Bournemouth with a game in hand.
Gard had been without a managerial job since 2014, when he left Lyon after three seasons in charge of the French club.
The former Arsenal player achieved Ligue 1 finishes of fourth, third and fifth during his time at Lyon, where he also won the French Cup in 2012.
Following the announcement of the Villans’ decision on Monday evening, Villa fans took to Twitter to have their say.

Garde looks like a beaten man even before he's managed his first game #avfc— Kristoffer Freiding (@KristofferF) November 2, 2015
