The Leeds United boss is looking a few months down the line.
The former Rotherham United boss has now overseen three matches since taking charge at Elland Road and it is fair to say things have not gone according to plan thus far.
Leeds drew 1-1 with Fulham and Bolton Wanderers before crashing 2-0 away to Blackburn Rovers last week, and those results leave the Whites 19th in the Championship with 13 points from a possible 42.
Leeds are currently just three points outside the bottom three, leaving Evans with a considerable amount of work to do in the weeks and months ahead.
While he will be hoping to bring in some players on loan this month the real changes can be made in January when permanent signings can be made. But Leeds may struggle to bring in the players required to pull them up the table midway through a faltering campaign.
Whatever happens Evans knows he is closing in on a vital time despite only just taking charge, and he told the YEP, “I don’t think it’s five or six signings by Tuesday or five or six in this window. The window in January will be a massive one.”
It certainly will…and Evans will be hoping he is still at Leeds then in a bid to work some magic.
