Nottingham Forest star Dimitar Evtimov speaks on Twitter after his costly error on league debut

Goalkeeping Gloves

The Bulgarian had a moment to forget at Hillsborough.

Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday yesterday. Once again Forest could not find the back of the net and that in the end cost them.

The game also saw a chance for 22-year-old goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov in the Forest sticks.

Dorus de Vries missed the game with an injury and the talented Bulgarian was therefore called in to the starting XI for the first time since joining the club from Chavdar Etropole in 2011.

Unfortunately he made an important mistake. He allowed Forestieri's powerful strike to squirm underneath him for the goal.

It was a moment which saw him publicly shamed by Forest boss Dougie Freedman, in a highly unpopular move, after the game.

Up until the mistake Evtimov had played well and the fact remains that Forest are simply not scoring enough goals to blame the keeper for anything.

Evtimov however appears to be taking it in good stead. He went on to social media last night to let it be known he would learn a lesson from his full league debut:

De Vries is likely to be back soon and the Bulgarian will again be back on the bench. But he will certainly hope to get out on the pitch again as soon as possible, so he can prove to the fans and manager that he is up to the task.
