Tottenham Hotspur’s players have a real sense of togetherness.
They head into their Monday clash with Aston Villa knowing that victory will see them leapfrog West Ham United into fifth, one point behind United in the Champions League qualification spots.
Spurs’ superb run of form can be attributed to their excellent work-rate – the best in the league – and the evident team spirit and togetherness among the players.
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Villa, shot-stopper Lloris has praised the mentality and honesty within the group, and explained to reports how it is a key requirement of boss Pochettino.
“We have a lot of honest guys in the squad with a great mentality so it's really easy to come into this team,” Lloris was quoted as saying.
"It's really positive at the moment. These players bring their skills but also their personality and mentality.
"I think it's what the gaffer expects; a great atmosphere in the team, a great mentality, a working mentality. We need to be ready to win all together, to suffer all together, to learn from defeats together.”
The potential at White Hart Lane is growing with each passing week and some observers feel that this could finally be the year where Spurs break back in to the top four.
With Chelsea’s struggles, there is definitely a huge opportunity for one other to claim a Champions League qualification spot and Spurs, Liverpool, Leicester City and West Ham United appear the most likely.
If there is one criticism to be had it’s that the North Londoners have dropped home points this season with draws against Stoke City and Everton real standouts, results they can’t really afford to repeat.
