Gers fans react on Twitter after Gedion Zelalem's performance; warning for Arsenal?

Gedion Zelalem

Rangers fans were far from pleased with Gedion Zelalem's display against Hibernian today.

Rangers' unbeaten run in the Scottish Championship finally came to an end this afternoon after a 2-1 defeat away at Hibernian.

Mark Warburton's men went in to the top of the table clash having won all 11 of their league games this season, but their 100% record is now over.

Jason Cummings put Hibernian in front in the first half, and whilst Darren McGregor's own goal pulled Rangers level, Paul Hanlon's winning goal sent Rangers back to Glasgow empty handed.

Many Rangers players suffered poor performances at Easter Road, but fans certainly focused on the cameo appearance from Gedion Zelalem.

The American midfielder, 18, is currently on loan at Ibrox from Arsenal, but is scheduled to return to the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window.

Rangers could yet extend that deal until the end of the season, but judging by the reactions from Gers fans after the game, the supporters may not want that.

Fans took to Twitter after the final whistle to suggest that Zelalem was not only poor against Hibernian, but has been off the boil for a number of weeks now.

Some even suggested that Zelalem should be sent back to Arsenal in January, giving Gunners fans a warning over a player who is tipped for a big future under Arsene Wenger.

Here are some of the reactions from Rangers fans on Twitter after Zelalem's performance in their 2-1 defeat to Hibernian...
