Video: Did this referee really call Everton's Gerard Deulofeu a cheat?

We think it looks like he has said it but what do you think?

Football referees are meant to spend the 90 minutes of a game giving a very impartial view on that game, regardless of any prejudices.

And, for the most part, refs do a very good job of it, even if players are rolling around on the floor or giving them a bit of lip.

So, when Andre Marriner took charge of the Everton vs Sunderland game at Goodison Park, we all expected a firm but fair showing.

And Marriner did that for most of the match but we think he might have had a very, very cheeky pop at Everton's Gerard Deulofeu.

The Spanish midfielder went down very easy after Billy Jones stuck a leg out but came nowhere near touching the player. While the former Barcelona man was looking to claim a penalty, Marriner waved it off but appears to call Deulofeu a cheat.

Now, we're not claiming to be expert lip readers but judge for yourself: it does look very much like that is what the referee is saying!

What do you think Marriner was saying... was it innocent or very, very silly?
