Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny put in yet another top notch performance as his side bounced back from their midweek defeat with a 3-0 win over Premier League opponents Swansea City.
The Gunners headed into the clash with the Swans coming off the back of a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, a game in which many top players were rested.
Koscielny was one of those to be given the night off, and his absence was duly noted as Arsene Wenger’s side looked disjointed at the back and extremely vulnerable at set-pieces.
Against Swansea, the visitors looked back to their ruthless best going forward with star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez combining brilliantly to really ram home their dominance in the second period.
However, it could have been a different story for the Gunners are a rather slack first-half display and their victory was arguably built on their solidarity at the back rather than their prowess up top.

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, Koscielny had a fine game at the heart of his side’s defence and he contributed greatly in a number of key defensive areas.
The France international made five interceptions, six effective clearances, won two aerial duels and six defensive duels while also contributing with a team-high ten ball recoveries.
His fine display was made even better by his second goal in successive matches as he got the better of Swans shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski and fired home from close range.
With Arsenal looking so formidable at both ends of the pitch, there is little wonder why a number of observers and pundits alike are really starting to take their title challenge seriously.
