Report: Five Championship teams hoping to loan Martin Odegaard in January

The Norwegian international is keen on a spell away from Real Madrid.

Martin Odegaard is of course a supreme talent. There was a bidding war for the player earlier this year after it became clear he was on his way out of Stromsgodset.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal were all linked with the player but he ended up at Real Madrid instead.

At just 16-years-old the talented playmaker already has seven caps for the Norwegian national team but he has struggled to make a breakthrough at the club, playing for the 'B' team at the moment.

He is now reportedly after a loan move and is open to a Championship switch. It is now being reported by Transfer Market Web that the five clubs looking to bring him in are Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Brighton and Hove Albion, Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Brighton are going for the title and Odegaard would certainly help. Birmingham City are hoping for promotion themselves whilst Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers want to get out of their inconsistent form and head toward the playoff spots. Bolton meanwhile are near the bottom of the table and Odegaard would be a massive boost for his injury ravaged squad.

Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Brighton and Hove Albion, Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers might be in the hunt for Odegaard but there will be a big battle for his services.
