Michael Owen predicts Olivier Giroud to make the difference in Swansea v Arsenal

Swansea City will face Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Olivier Giroud could be the difference between Swansea City and Arsenal this weekend.

The Swans and the Gunners will face each other at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

France international striker Giroud is likely to start the encounter for Arsenal in Wales, and former Liverpool striker Owen believes that he could be the difference between the two sides.

The Swans did the double over Arsenal last term and returned to winning ways, after a recent dip in form, at Villa Park last weekend,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.

The Gunners are getting short of attacking options with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joining Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere on the side-lines after their Capital One Cup loss midweek.

“Olivier Giroud has had his critics this season but his goals per minute ratio (88.8 mins) is actually the best in the PL this term and he might be the difference.”

Giroud has been on the books of Arsenal since 2012, but he has yet to convince everyone.

The Frenchman is a very good striker, but is he world class? Is Giroud good enough to lead the Gunners to Premier League glory?

Although there are better strikers than the 29-year-old, he is someone who gets goals regularly.

The former Montpellier star has scored five goals and created seven chances in 10 Premier League appearances so far this campaign.

Giroud scored 14 goals and created 28 chances in 27 league matches last season, while in 2013-14 he found the target 16 times and created 37 chances in 36 league games.
