Everton have confirmed on their official website that they have snapped up free agent defender Felipe Mattioni on a deal until the end of the season - but have sent him straight out to Doncaster.
The Toffees have suffered with a host of defensive injuries so far this season, which have prompted youngsters Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway in to action.
Now, manager Roberto Martinez has made a move to add some depth to his ranks, by snapping up free agent Felipe Mattioni on a contract until next summer.
Mattioni, 27, left Spanish side Espanyol at the end of last season, and has recently been training with Everton in a bid to win his contract.
The Brazilian full back, formerly of AC Milan, has now earned his contract with Everton - but won't be playing for the club just yet.
Everton have also confirmed on their official website that Mattioni has joined League One side Doncaster Rovers on loan, meaning he can build up his fitness before returning to Goodison Park.
Eventually, Mattioni will bring some experienced cover for Seamus Coleman at right back, but the priority will be building up his fitness after many injury-hit seasons with Espanyol.
