Newcastle United are looking for a response having lost 3-0 to fierce rivals Sunderland last weekend.
The Magpies have won just once this season, and now need to show fans what they are made of after a disappointing derby day loss.
Manager Steve McClaren is still without Tim Krul as Rob Elliot continues in goal, but he is now missing Jack Colback too, with the midfielder suffering an injury too - meaning Vurnon Anita comes in to midfield alongside Cheick Tiote.
Ayoze Perez and Aleksandar Mitrovic continue their promising partnership up front, whilst the likes of Papiss Cisse, Siem de Jong and Florian Thauvin are all available as substitutes.
Meanwhile, Stoke are also coming off the back of a defeat having lost 2-0 at home to Watford last weekend.
That result came after a run of three wins in a row for Mark Hughes' men, meaning they are also keen to hit back in style.
Ryan Shawcross makes his long-awaited return to the defence after a lengthy absence through injury, and his comeback will be well received after a torrid defensive showing last weekend.
Jonathan Walters comes in up front in place of Joselu, whilst Hughes can call upon the likes of Mame Biram Diouf, Ibrahim Afellay and Stephen Ireland from the substitutes bench.
