The former Celtic striker has defended the forward and his team-mate.
Chris Sutton has defended Nadir Ciftci and Emilio Izaguirre after the Celtic due were said to have had a training ground bust-up, according to his regular column in the Daily Record.
Indeed, Sutton says some of the things he's heard about the pair has made him 'laugh,' while he believes the desire shown by both Ciftci and Izaguirre is exactly what you need at a big club like the Parkhead outfit.
The former striker therefore takes issue with those calling for the duo to be reprimanded.
Sutton told the Record: "The PC brigade are talking rubbish with their whining over the training ground incident between Emilio Izaguirre and Nadir Ciftci .
"Some of the stuff I’ve been reading and hearing over the past couple of days has made me laugh.
"Honestly, listening to the opinions over Izaguirre and Ciftci are amusing. I’ve seen people call for them to be sacked, fined, reprimanded, you name it. You’d think Ciftci had taken a golf club out and smacked Izaguirre all over Lennoxtown.
"I know that people get tired reading that it happens every day. But, honestly, there is edge every time you step on to the training pitch at a big club, especially at the likes of Celtic."
It's unlike Sutton to defend Celtic or their players based on recent form but, here, he clearly feels the Bhoys duo in question haven't done anything wrong.
Ronny Deila's side responded to recent criticism with a strong 3-1 win over Aberdeen that takes them seven points clear of the Dons on Saturday afternoon.
Celtic are top but Aberdeen down to third, with Hearts now second by a point.
As always, though, Deila will likely be judged on potential failure in the Europa League. Domestically, things are going smoothly for the Hoops at present.
