Thierry Henry says Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is finally starting to deliver

Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil has been in superb form of late.

Thierry Henry has reserved special praise for Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and highlighted how the German international is finally starting to deliver on a consistent basis, the Daily Star reports.

The former Werder Bremen man cost Arsenal a record transfer fee when they signed him from Real Madrid in 2013, a deal which was well received among supporters at the Emirates.

After a decent start to life in the Premier League, Ozil began to frustrate with his inconsistency and he soon picked up a reputation as being a player who went missing in the big games.

However, he has since shaken that tag somewhat and his recent superb displays have caught the imagination and won the praise of former Arsenal hero Thierry Henry.

"For me, he has finally started to deliver on a consistent basis," Henry said. “We all know his quality; he is a World Cup winner; his touch is second to none; he has vision; he shares… everything is there.”

"The only thing you can say, in all fairness, is that before he wasn't doing it on a consistent basis. Now, he looks like he's doing it every game so you have to give him credit."

Turning consistency into titles:

Now Ozil has started to consistently perform at a superb level, the next step for him to finally prove he was worth the price tag paid for him is to help Arsenal win titles.

During his stay in North London, the Gunners have won back-to-back FA Cups, but the most-coveted prize surely has to be the Premier League title, plus a decent run in Europe.

For too long, Arsene Wenger’s men have disappointed on both fronts but with the squad depth and quality now available at Wenger’s disposal, it’s time for his major stars to really deliver the goods.
