Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Shane Long and Jay Rodriguez will both miss out on Southampton’s match against Bournemouth this weekend.
The Saints meet their south coast rivals at St. Mary’s on Sunday, looking to claim the local bragging rights.
But the fixture will come too soon for Long and Rodriguez, who have both been nursing niggling injuries over the course of the last week, and have not recovered in time.

Rodriguez is still attempting to make it back to full fitness after missing the entire 2014/15 campaign with a knee problem.
The attacker has seen some first-team minutes this term, but his body is still adapting to playing football every week again.
Long, meanwhile, has not played since the international break, when he scored for the Republic of Ireland in their 1-0 win over Germany.
Koeman will hope that both attackers come back into contention soon, as Southampton look to build on their impressive start to their Premier League campaign.
