Paul Merson has told SkySports he believes neither Manchester United or Liverpool will win this weekend.
The former midfielder believes the Red Devils will draw with Crystal Palace, predicting a 1-1 scoreline, and expects Liverpool to lose to Chelsea, and Jurgen Klopp to suffer his first Premier League defeat.
The ex-Arsenal and Aston Villa ace said of Crystal Palace: "I feel this game plays into their hands because United will have a go, allowing Palace to utilise their pace.
"The Manchester derby was poor last weekend and to then go out of the cup to Middlesbrough only made things worse. United are lacking the consistency and they need to get back to winning ways, I just don't see it happening this weekend."
One intriguing element of the fixture will see Wilfried Zaha go head to head with his former club, where he was not given a regular run in the side.
Liverpool to lose?
Merson feels this weekend will provide a tough early lesson for Jurgen Klopp, even against an out of form Chelsea.
Chelsea's best performance of a woeful season so far came in a big game against Arsenal, and the occasion could inspire them against a Liverpool team they have had the beating of in recent seasons.
He said: "I'm going to go for a home win here as I haven't been that impressed by Liverpool. I think Jurgen Klopp has gone in there and realised there's a lot of work to do.
"I keep on saying I expect Chelsea to win and they keep on losing, but I just think they'll have too much for Liverpool on Saturday."
Liverpool go into the game in ninth, ahead of 15th placed Chelsea, but there are just three points between the two teams, a gap which would be erased with a win for the Blues.
