Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has spoken, in comments carried by the club's official Twitter account, of his belief that he is currently enjoying the best form of his entire career.
The Scotland international forward has arguably been the Bhoys’ most consistent performer over the opening part of the campaign, and he has racked up the goals.
LG on whether he’s in the best form of his career: “I would say so." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) October 30, 2015
Griffiths has hit the back of the net 12 times in his opening 21 appearances this term, as he has established his place as Ronny Deila’s main striker.
Griffiths’ form has helped Celtic to climb to the top of the Scottish Premiership standings this season, but there are still niggling issues at Parkhead.
The Bhoys failure to impress in Europe has aggravated many, and Deila is losing the support of certain sections of the crowd.
If Griffiths can continue to bang in the goals, Celtic should be near-certainties to win the league, but just performing well domestically is not enough for the Glasgow giants.
Bhoys supporters want a European run, and Griffiths is likely to need to raise his total from two goals in eight games in Champions League and Europa League matches if his is to help his side to progress.
