Arsenal fans call on Arsene Wenger to give Dan Crowley first-team chance after Barnsley recall

Dan Crowley playing for England

The 18-year-old is back at Arsenal from a loan spell at Barnsley.

This week saw Dan Crowley's loan spell at Barnsley cut short with Arsenal confirming today who did the cutting.

It has been reported that Barnsley were not impressed by the player and sent him back but Arsene Wenger confirmed today that The Gunners in fact brought him back to the club from Yorkshire to help cover the club's current injury troubles.

Barnsley boss Lee Johnson also confirmed as much earlier today.

The talented 18-year-old, who has been compared to Jack Wilshere in the past, is highly thought of at The Emirates Stadium and it could be he is in with a chance of first-team football for The Gunners in the coming weeks.

Indeed it would seem that is what Arsenal fans would like to see.

Fans on Twitter have been calling on Arsene Wenger to give him a chance to shine in the first-team now he is back and in the absence of Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The last time Arsenal recalled a midfielder and threw him into the mix it was Francis Coquelin from Charlton Athletic and the Frenchman is now one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet every week.

Could Crowley do the same?
