City will face Hull in the League Cup quarter finals.
Manchester City booked their place in the quarter finals of the League Cup with a comprehensive victory over Crystal Palace last night.
Manuel Pellegrini demonstrated his commitment to the competition with a strong team in the last round against Sunderland, and he took the same approach against the Eagles - with the likes of Yaya Toure, Wilfired Bony and Kevin de Bruyne all starting.
Bony gave City the lead after 22 minutes with a powerful header before De Bruyne doubled the advantage just before half-time.

Yaya Toure converted from the spot on the 76th minute to put the game beyond doubt, before Damien Delaney headed in to provide scant consolation for the South London club late on.
The Sky Blues were to have the last say however, with another Academy product Manuel Garcia making it 5-1 in the dying embers of the game.
The City players were delighted with their display and took to Twitter to celebrate, including young star Patrick Roberts who was making his home debut after a summer switch from Fulham:
