Celtic defeated Hearts in the Scottish League Cup.
Celtic continued their strong domestic form this season, defeating Hearts 2-1 in the Scottish League Cup quarter final.
A hard fought battle, it tool until the 71st minute for Celtic to take the lead, thanks to a lovely solo goal scored by hot-shot striker Leigh Griffiths.
However, when they netted it never looked as if Hearts could get back in the game, and Griffiths set up the second Bhoys goals 10 minutes later, laying the ball for Tom Rogic to strike home.
Hearts did pull one back in the 90th minute, but it was too late for the home side to get back into the game at Tynecastle.
Celtic are now the third team with their passage to the semi-final assured, having also see Ross County and St Johnstone secure their place. The draw for the next round of the competition takes place in two weeks, following the final quarter final tie between Hibernian and Dundee United.
Griffiths has taken all the praise at the end of the game for his match winning performance, scoring a goal and setting up another one, and he took to his personal Twitter account after the game to react to the victory.
Griffiths has praised the fans for their unwavering support during the game, which helped him come out of the close game with a goal and an assist to his name.
Griffiths will be hoping to lead Celtic to the finals of the League Cup, and success in the competition, and more performances like his one on Wednesday night will give the Bhoys a great chance of winning the trophy.
