Former loanee congratulated Middlesbrough on their win.
Middlesbrough produced a perfect performance on Wednesday night, knocking Manchester United out of the Capital One Cup on penalties.
Thousands of fans made the trip to Old Trafford to watch Aitor Karanka's side stand firm against a dangerous United attack which included big summer signing Memphis Depay.
Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial were sent on to win the game for United, but neither could find a way past as the game ended 0-0 even after extra time.
Former loanee Jelle Vossen sent a message to Middlesbrough via Twitter after their shootout win.
Congrats to the @Boro boys! Winning at old trafford, must be some party at teesside!— Jelle Vossen (@VossenJelle) October 28, 2015
Vossen was part of the Middlesbrough side which reached the play-offs last season, only to sign with Burnley in the summer.
Somewhat surprisingly he left the Lancashire side after only two months, to sign back in Belgium with Club Brugge, where he has scored two goals in five league games so far.
His spell at Middlesbrough may not have culminated in a permanent move, but he clearly retains a real admiration for the club, especially their latest achievement.
