Celtic boss explains Leigh Griffiths's biggest weakness

Ronny Deila

The Norwegian has been discussing his star striker.

Celtic boss Ronny Deila feels Leigh Griffiths's biggest weakness is his response to scoring a goal.

When it comes to hitting the back of the net, Griffiths is by far Celtic's most potent threat.

But the Norwegian says the 25-year-old has a tendency to drop off after scoring - something he wants the striker to eradicate from his game in order to keep pushing on.

Deila will need to be that demanding of his players for the rest of the season as nothing less than perfection will be enough to make it a successful campaign on all fronts.

The Bhoys currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership and are into the last four of the Scottish League Cup but can't afford any complacency or slip-ups.

And, in the Europa League, Celtic's tricky situation needs little documenting.

Later in the campaign, Carlton Cole should be able to help Griffiths out more, while there is also Nadir Ciftci. But Griffiths is undeniably Celtic's leading man and, often, bosses put more pressure on those capable of delivering the most - rather than those who aren't doing as well.
