Barry Bannan: Sheffield Wednesday couldn't be any more confident

Sheffield Wednesday 2

Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions.

Barry Bannan has informed the Daily Star that Sheffield Wednesday could not be any more confident at present.

The Owls have gone unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions, and they destroyed Arsenal 3-0 in their latest outing in the Capital One Cup.

And although Bannan doesn’t want his side to get carried away with their good form, the midfielder admits they are in a very good place.

"We can't get any more confident,” he insisted. “We have been winning for a while. What we must do, though, is keep our feet on the ground.

"The lads we have in that dressing room won't get carried away. I don't think they're that type.”

Wednesday will be looking to take their unbeaten run into double figures at the weekend, when they take on Nottingham Forest.

The Owls need to ward off any complacency, but given the two side’s respective form, they should feel confident in their ability to pick up a positive result.

While Wednesday have been mounting a promotion push, Forest have struggled to collect victories and they haven’t won in any of their last six matches.

Wednesday are currently sat in ninth place in the Championship table, and they are only four points adrift of the play-off places.
