Romelu Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola claims Everton boss Roberto Martinez will grant his client a move away from Goodison Park if a good enough offer comes in, the Daily Mail reports.
The Belgium international became Everton’s record transfer when he moved to Merseyside on a four-year deal from Chelsea following a successful loan period.
While his debut season as an Everton player didn’t quite match the highs of his initial loan sell, Lukaku has rediscovered his top form this season and has five goals in ten Premier League matches.
With growing reports of interest from French giants Paris Saint-Germain, as reported by the Daily Star, Lukaku’s agent Raiola has now suggested a deal could be sanctioned if a fair price is offered.
“Lukaku to PSG? We had a discussion with Martinez, he said he would let him leave Everton if a good offer comes in,” Raiola told Radio Monte Carlo, quoted by the Daily Mail.
While Everton have successfully managed to hold on to their star players in recent years, notably defender John Stones, there is an air of inevitability regarding future departures.
The Toffees are a well-respected, established Premier League side with plenty of potential. However, they are unlikely to ever challenge for the title while a top four spot is a long way away.
The top players such as Stones, Lukaku and Ross Barkley will undoubtedly harbour dreams of competing in the Champions League, challenging for top honours and looking at winning titles.
At Everton, such dreams are unlikely to ever come true therefore when the time comes, Roberto Martinez’s side can only hope to get the best the best deal possible for the good of the club.
