After signing new deal is it time to give Cameron Carter-Vickers game time at Tottenham Hotspur?

The teenager is a prestigious talent who Tottenham have high hopes for.

Yesterday saw Tottenham Hotspur tie down one of their hottest prospects to a new long-term deal at the club. It was revealed yesterday that USA youth international Cameron Carter-Vickers had signed on the dotted line of a new deal with the club keeping him at White Hart Lane until 2018.

The 17-year-old has been a captain on occasions for the Under-21 side in recent times and has become a mainstay of the USA Under-20 side.

All this despite his age just goes to show the talent of this young defender.

So, should Tottenham start handing him game time?

The Premier League might still be too high risk for the teenager but what about the Europa League?

As much as Spurs fans want to do well in the competition they also realise it can be a great opportunity to blood young talent.

Not necessarily as a starter, but Carter-Vickers should certainly hope for some potential bench time and travelling out with the matchday squad - to give him that first-team experience.

The FA Cup might also be an area where he can get a shot.

Mauricio Pochettino is never afraid to give young talent a go and in Carter-Vickers they have a player full of potential and already has the physical make-up of a man in his mid-20s.

Maybe it is too soon but he must surely be on Poch's radar going forward.
