Sheffield Wednesday knocked Arsenal out of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday evening.
Carlos Carvalhal has told the Sheffield Star that he has already explained to his Sheffield Wednesday players that they must not lose focus, after they knocked Arsenal out of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Wednesday picked up a hugely impressive 3-0 win over the Gunners to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
However, Carvalhal does not want that success to lead to complacency, and his message after the match was to ensure that focus immediately switched to beating Nottingham Forest in Championship action at the weekend.
“We don’t have time to celebrate because Saturday we have another game with Nottingham Forest," he said. "We can’t sleep. If we sleep, we come down very quickly. I’ve said to the players, in this moment, we must think about the Nottingham Forest game because it is the next one. And we must do the same we are doing all the time.”
Wednesday picked up their win over Arsenal courtesy of goals from Ross Wallace, Lucas Joao and Sam Hutchinson.
The victory raised spirits at Hillsborough even further, with the side now unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions and climbing the Championship table rapidly.
The Owls are currently sat in ninth place in the second tier standings, and they have moved to the fringes of the play-off places.
A win over Nottingham Forest would move them ever closer to the top-six, and they will go into the match full of confidence after their brilliant run of results.
