According to The Sun, Everton are ahead of Swansea City and Sunderland in the race to sign Bordeaux's playmaking sensation Wahbi Khazri.
The Toffees snapped up the likes of Ramiro Funes Mori, Mason Holgate, Tom Cleverley, Gerard Deulofeu and Leandro Rodriguez over the summer, but manager Roberto Martinez may be looking for further reinforcements during the January transfer window.
The Sun report that Everton have been scouting Bordeaux playmaker Wahbi Khazri, and are leading the race for his signature once the transfer window re-opens.
Khazri, 24, starred with Bastia before joining Bordeaux in 2014, and having hit nine goals and five assists last season, the Tunisian international has established himself as one of the top creative forces in Ligue 1.
This term, Khazri has already notched four goals and five assists, and those exploits in France have seemingly triggered interest in his signature, with The Sun suggesting that Everton are lining up a £6m January swoop for Khazri as they look to strengthen their squad.
Khazri is known as a technically gifted player who can also score from set pieces, and with the versatility to play out wide or as an attacking midfielder, he may be a valuable creative weapon for Martinez, should he manage to lure him to Goodison Park.
