Pedro Obiang compares West Ham team-mate Adrian to Iker Casillas

The West Ham goalkeeper has been in great form this season.

West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has been speaking to the press in his native Spain this week about his time at Upton Park so far.

The Hammers snapped up the energetic midfielder from Sampdoria this summer and despite some niggling injury problems he has impressed when in action for Slaven Bilic's men.

Of course there have been players at the club who have impressed more. There have been some terrific performers for West Ham this season, with there being a case to award Adrian as the best of all.

The Spaniard has been in superb form this season, leading some to theorise he might even be in with a shout of making the Spain team for the European Championships in France next summer.

One man who would seemingly be happy with that is Obiang. He had this to say to Marca regarding the form of his current stopper:

"He is our Iker Casillas. He does things not anybody can do. He'll take it in the face if necessary. From the first day I was impressed in football and personally."

Fine praise indeed considering the fact Casillas, now with FC Porto, has over 160 caps for Spain and captained them to three major international title wins over a four year period.

Adrian will now hope to join him and Manchester United stopper David De Gea in France next summer.
