Norwich City fans react on Twitter to Lewis Grabban’s performance v Everton

Norwich City

Norwich City were knocked out of the League Cup by Everton.

Norwich fell out of the League Cup to Premier League rivals Everton, losing 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

Alex Neil’s side have now lost their last four games, whilst Everton progressed to just their second League Cup in the lsat 27 years.

Sebastien Bassong gave Norwich the lead early in the second half, but the Toffees pulled the game back to a tie on the 68th minute, after a Leon Osman finish.

Roberto Martinez’s side went on to put away all their penalties, whilst Wes Hoolahan and Nathan Redmond both missed their spot-kicks, ending the Canaries’ run in the competition.

Norwich’s team selection was notable for the inclusion of Lewis Grabban in the starting line-up. It was the striker’s fifth performance of the season, and many believe his future lies away from Carrow Road after his outcasting from the first-team by Neil.

He has started just one Premier League game, and has still not scored this term, although he had some golden opportunities to put the ball away in normal time against Everton.

However, he failed to capitalise on his chance to impress Neil, and fans took to Twitter at the end of the game to discuss his performance.

Whilst fans took to praising his penalty, his general performance was criticised by the majority of supporters, with questions raised as to why he was playing whilst Kyle Lafferty sat on the substitutes bench.
