Everton defeated Norwich City in the League Cup on Tuesday.
Everton secured a 4-3 penalty victory over Norwich on Tuesday evening, securing their passage to the League Cup quarter final.
Leon Osman cancelled out Sebastien Bassong’s opening goal, before Joel Robles became a hero with a penalty save to ensure the Toffees won the tie.
The result meant that Everton inflicted Norwich’s fourth straight defeat on the East Anglian side, whilst continuing the good form that the Toffees have been showing after a slow start to the season.
Following the game, Everton star Gerard Deulofeu took to his personal Twitter account to react to the victory, calling the result a ‘special win’ for the Toffees.

Deulofeu played 58 minutes of the game, starting on the substitutes bench, and being substituted on after 62 minutes for Arouna Kone. He could not help the Toffees secure an open play victory, but the Spaniard did net his penalty in the shoot out to help the Merseyside club to the next round of the competition.
Deulofeu returned to Everton over the summer, agreeing a permanent transfer from Barcelona after spending an impressive loan spell with Martinez’s men in the 2013/14 campaign.
He has quickly established himself as a fan favourite at Goodison Park, but Deulofeu has yet to have the same sort of impact with the Toffees as he did during his loan spell on Merseyside.
