Hooper has joined Wednesday on loan from Norwich City until January, and the striker is set to go straight into their squad for a weekend meeting with Nottingham Forest.
The 27-year-old forward has not played much first-team football of late, but he should get plenty of chances to impress at Hillsborough and he has tweeted his joy at the move.
Delighted to have signed on loan at @swfc looking forward to my new challenge.— Gary Hooper (@HOOP588) October 27, 2015
Wednesday have been on the look-out for a new forward for some time, with Carlos Carvalhal's side missing a proven goalscorer in their line-up.
Hooper's arrival at the club should end their search for goals, though, and the former Celtic man makes their forward line look like one of the most dangerous in the Championship.
With Fernando Forestieri, Lucas Joao and Atdhe Nuhiu all competing for the striking role at present, Hooper brings depth to their squad, and he could face a fight to earn a place in in Owls' starting line-up.
Wednesday have managed to go unbeaten through their last nine games in all competitions, meaning Hooper joins a side full of confidence.
