Video: Michail Antonio scores in training, still hoping to impress Slaven Bilic

Michail Antonio is still trying to impress West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.

Antonio has featured for just 30 minutes of action this season, but a video published by the official West Ham Twitter account has shown him scoring a lovely goal in training hoping to impress Slaven Bilic.

The winger arrived at the Boleyn Ground at the end of the summer transfer window, but has so far only featured for 30 minutes of action in the victory over Manchester City.

He appears to be short of fitness, and considering how impressive West Ham’s other players have been, first-team chances are not forthcoming.

Aside from the occasional appearance at Under-21 level, Antonio has had to spend the season on the substitutes bench, but he is fighting hard to get into the senior side, showcasing his talents in training, with a number of good displays - such as the goal he has netted in the video above.

It is hard to suggest that Antonio deserves to be in the starting line-up ahead of any of the other players that Bilic can call upon, with Manuel Lanzini, Dimitri Payet, Victor Moses and Mauro Zarate all excelling in the wide positions under the Croatian boss.

They have all performed far better than many expected them to, and although Antonio’s signing was greeted with much fanfare following his impressive time in the Championship, it appears as if he will have to wait longer until given his chance with West Ham.
