Tottenham are hoping to sign Sofiane Boufal in January.
Tottenham have been linked with Lille youngster Sofiane Boufal since the early weeks of this season, and a report in L’Equipe has handed them a boost in the race to sign the winger in the January transfer window.
The Standard reported back in October that Tottenham were scouting him ahead of a potential deal, and the latest report explains that Lille are open to selling Boufal in January, as they need to raise funds for their first-team squad.
The Ligue 1 side’s management are hoping to strengthen their starting XI in the transfer window, and have placed a valuation on Boufal’s head, suggesting he has been made available.
The report claims that the 22-year-old attacker is available for £21.6 million, although Lille want to have a clause in the deal which means they sign him back on loan until the end of the current season.
Spurs are still said to be interested in Boufal, although they may reconsider their stance on a potential move due to his asking price. It is a fairly high valuation for a player who has not yet played over 100 competitive games, but he has been one of the best performing players in Ligue 1 this season.
There are also no indications as to whether Spurs would be open to the loan clause in the contract, but Lille hold all the cards in the January transfer saga concerning the extremely talented Boufal.
