Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has impressed whenever given a first-team opportunity.
Ronny Deila has praised the performance of Kieran Tierney after Celtic's 5-0 win against St. Mirren on the club's official site.
Tierney was brought back into Celtic's starting line-up for the fixture, and he put in a highly impressive display.
The 18-year-old left-back attacked with purpose and defended with resilience, as he helped Ronny Deila's side pick up a convincing victory.
And Deila said: “He was very good. It’s a big credit to the Celtic youth academy to bring through a player like that. He has a big future. He’s only 18-years-old and has a great attitude: he wants to get better every day and he hates get beaten. He also has that mental strength you need.”
Tierney has started to break into Celtic's first-team this season, and there have been calls for him to replace Emilio Izaguirre on a permanent basis, after his latest performance.
Although the youngster is still learning his trade, he has looked comfortable whenever he has been called upon to start for the Bhoys.
Tierney has now gained experience in European and domestic football, and no challenge has appeared too great for him to date.
Celtic's win over St. Mirren extends their lead over Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership to four points, and means they are now unbeaten in their last six matches.
