MacIntyre joins from Coutts & Co, effective 4 January 2016. The appointment underlines Lombard Odier’s ambition to further expand services to UK clientele.
Before joining Lombard Odier, in 2006 MacIntyre founded and was global head of Coutts Private Office. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Coutts executive committee. Prior to Coutts, he was a senior private banker at JPMorgan, which he joined from Robert Fleming & Co. in 2000. MacIntyre began his career at HSBC James Capel in the private client investment management business. He will report to Henry Fischel-Bock, Lombard Odier Group Managing Director responsible for the Domestic European Private Client business and CEO of Lombard Odier (Europe) SA.
Lombard Odier offers individuals and their families a full range of bespoke services, including estate planning, discretionary and advisory portfolio management, tax reporting and custody services. The Lombard Odier Group has developed significant private banking operations in Europe, Asia and Switzerland and managed $120bn on behalf of private clients at the end of June 2015.
“The UK is an important location for private client financial services, both because of the depth of the UK market and for international clients looking for the regulatory rigour, political stability and professionalism found there,” said Fischel-Bock. “We have been in the UK for more than forty years and London, more than ever, remains a strategic priority for the Lombard Odier Group. Duncan’s appointment to lead our private client business here is a further commitment to our UK presence and part of our plans to expand our services and offer. Duncan has a proven track record building high-end private client wealth management and planning practices. We are delighted to bring Duncan’s skill set and track record on board because he shares our own ethos and commitment to long-term partnership with our client families.”
“Lombard Odier is a business with all of the attributes central to successful private client management,” said MacIntyre. “I’m excited about joining Lombard Odier; it has a clear alignment of interests between its business and clients and a commitment to long-term, trusted relationships sustained over generations. It’s also in the enviable position of having a pioneering IT platform that puts it at the cutting edge of client reporting and portfolio management.”
Dominic Tremlett, who has successfully led Lombard Odier's private client business in the UK for the last three years, will relocate as planned to Switzerland. In his new role, Dominic will remain focused on the further development of Lombard Odier's private client franchise.
