Forget hat-trick, Tottenham ace Harry Kane achieves what only one striker has done this season

Harry Kane was one of just two players this season to record 100 per cent of his shots on target having attempted five or more efforts.

The floodgates finally opened for Harry Kane as he netted a hat-trick against Bournemouth in a 5-1 win.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker had suffered bad luck in front of goal early in the season, struggling to replicate the success he enjoyed in his breakthrough campaign a year ago.

Kane's hat-trick will be a welcome confidence boost for him and ease pressure on a Tottenham attack which looked lost without him when he was rested in midweek against Anderlecht in the Europa League.

His clinical finishing came from five efforts on goal - every one of which hit the target.

Incredibly this is the only second time this season a player has attempted five or more shots at goal, with a 100 per cent accuracy rate at testing the goalkeeper. The only other attacker to do so came in a game against Tottenham.

Crucially Kane's efforts were rewarded with three goals, with a helping hand from a woeful goalkeeping display from Artur Boruc.

Harry Kane Bournemouth vs Tottenham 5 100% 3

Kane was at his clinical best - and stated a case not only as his best display of the season, but a masterclass compared to any striker in the Premier League.

Sergio Aguero's five goals against Newcastle for Manchester City surely kicks Kane into touch, but even that day he recorded only 63 per cent of his shots on target.

Every one of those efforts beat Tim Krul to find the net - showing a lethal touch that even Kane could not match against Bournemouth.

Spurs fans will simply be glad Kane shows a robustness the injury blighted Aguero does not, for their lack of depth in attack suggests they can't afford to be without him for a substantial period.
