Gary Gardner has shown his disappointment on social media site Twitter, after Tim Sherwood was sacked as Aston Villa manager earlier today.
Gardner never made an appearance under Sherwood, but he was expected to have a big role to play for the side this term.
The central-midfielder has missed the entirety of the campaign so far through injury, but he clearly enjoyed his time working with Sherwood and his backroom staff.

Sherwood's sacking as Villa boss comes with the side currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, after a disastrous start to the season.
Villa have not won since the opening day of the new campaign, and their latest defeat came against Swansea City at the weekend.
It seems that some members of the Villa squad were still behind Sherwood though, with Jack Grealish another of the first-team squad to tweet his disappointment at the 46-year-old boss's dismissal.
Sherwood has always given youngsters a chance during his brief managerial career to date, and it may be that Gardner and Grealish fear they won't be given so many opportunities when a new manager comes in.
