The Senegalese midfielder was in top form as West Ham downed the champions.
The disjointed champions put in another puzzling display as The Hammers did a great job to claim all three points.
It was yet another great result for West Ham against a top team in the Premier League since Slaven Bilic arrived in the summer. Chelsea now join Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City on Bilic's scalp list.
But whilst it was Andy Carroll who made most of the headlines with his winning goal there was no doubt that the performance of Senegal international midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate also deserves a mention.
He was magnificent once again in the Premier League clash, swashbuckling in his box-to-box display and winning the man-of-the-match award yet again in a stunning display.
It was the sort of performance that perhaps Chelsea could need in the heart of their languid midfield in recent weeks.
Of course there was a heap of quality West Ham performances yesterday but Kouyate's stood out from the crowd.
The West Ham fans were certainly impressed, as you can tell from their reactions on Twitter...
Quality performance today, played some cracking stuff. Thought Sakho, Cresswell, Kouyate and Payet were outstanding! #COYI— Chris Brown (@ChrisBrown80) October 24, 2015
KOUYATE IS WORLD CLASS— #LVGOUT (@moeyassir) October 24, 2015
Kouyate ran 70 yards after that clearance. Awesome. Makes up for his meek passing skills.— Tyrone Stone (@BritInTheMitt) October 24, 2015
