Report: Kris Commons wants new deal - and expects to outlast Deila

The Celtic midfielder's latest outburst won't affect his Parkhead future if he has anything to do with it, says a report.

Celtic midfielder Kris Commons still wants a new deal at Parkhead despite his outburst in the Europa League on Thursday night, according to the Daily Record.

The 32-year-old made his feelings clear after a public rant at the Bhoys coaching staff when he was substituted during the 3-1 defeat to Molde.

But Commons, who has a year left on his current deal beyond this season, has apologised to the club and still wants to extend his contract with the Scottish champions.

And, what's more, the Record report that Commons privately feels he can outlast boss Ronny Deila in Glasgow.

Indeed, the experienced midfielder and the Norwegian coach haven't quite seen eye to eye throughout Deila's time at Parkhead.

Commons' latest outburst appears the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Celtic boss.

But, while the 32-year-old has come under fire from sections of the support and various pundits, there are many who back him after the Molde incident.

And Bhoys head coach Deila is facing increasing pressure, meaning Commons holds hope he can stay with the club he loves beyond the current manager's stay.
