Andy Carroll scored West Ham United's winner in their 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
Mauro Zarate has told West Ham United's official site that Andy Carroll was the only player in the squad who could have scored their winner against Chelsea.
Carroll headed home an Aaron Cresswell cross to give the Hammers a 2-1 win over Chelsea, and Zarate was delighted for his teammate.
Carroll out-jumped the Chelsea defence to power home in the 79th minute, and by doing so he ensured that his side claimed another notable scalp during their memorable start to the season.
"Andy's winning goal was fantastic - only he can score a header like that." the Argentine forward said. "It was a fantastic result and a fantastic match. Everyone ran and everyone worked and that is the way we have to play to take the three points."
Carroll's goal against Chelsea was the best moment in his football career for a sizeable period of time, as he has been out injured for so long.
The target-man has struggled to stay off the treatment ever since moving to the Hammers, and Slaven Bilic has used him sparingly throughout his time at Upton Park so far.
Carroll proved his worth to the side against Chelsea though, and Bilic will be hoping that he can continue to select the England international for a prolonged period of time.
