Kante's form for Leicester has largely gone under-the-radar, because of Jamie Vardy's goalscoring run, but the Malian international is quickly becoming a fans' favourite at the King Power Stadium.
Kante was tireless against Palace, and his performance was every bit as important as Vardy's, who netted the winner, to take his total to 10 goals for the season.
He set the tone for the Foxes, as he provided an effective shield for their defence and also managed to get forward with regularity.
It was a display which highlighted all of his best qualities, and he seems to be forming a very dynamic partnership with Danny Drinkwater in the centre of the pitch.
Drinkwater's passing and combativeness, compliments Kante's all-action style well, and they have been vital in Claudio Ranieri's side's good start to the campaign.
Leicester's win over Palace has lifted them up to fifth in the Premier League table, and supporters of the Midlands club were effusive with their praise for Kante on social media site Twitter last night.
Kanté and Drinkwater could be our greatest midfield since Wellens and Oakley #lcfc— Jack Stevenson (@JackSteves) October 24, 2015
Very even game today, we took one of the few chances that came are way. Kante was class above. #LCFC— Lew (@Granger93) October 24, 2015
Vardy - rightly - getting the headlines but the #LCFC player who impresses me is N'Golo Kante. Absolute machine in midfield. Relentless.— John Bennett (@JohnBennettBBC) October 24, 2015
