The Italian has been talking up the Gunners’ chances of becoming English champions.
The Italian had a successful spell at Stamford Bridge before moving on to PSG and Real Madrid, and is currently taking time away from the game.
Chelsea have struggled this season and were beaten 2-1 by West Ham yesterday in the side’s fifth defeat of the new campaign.
Arsenal meanwhile are on top of the table after beating Everton by the same scoreline, with hopes in the Emirates Stadium faithful that this could be the year that Arsene Wenger’s men become champions again.
“I didn’t expect this crisis, but I do understand the reasons behind these problems,” he stated according to The Mirror.
"Last year they won by a mile, now they are more relaxed. Don’t worry, Mourinho will sort it out. He is the right man.
“Manchester City are the most complete squad in the Premier League, but every now and then they go off piste. They are not 100 per cent reliable.
“I’d watch out for Arsenal. Arsene Wenger did well to change their system, so he waits and counters to get the best out of the pace of Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez.”
Arsenal have had the perfect time of it recently, with impressive victories over Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Everton getting their season back on track and giving the club’s fans hope.
