Shola Ameobi scores on his Bolton debut, sends Twitter into meltdown

Shola Ameobi + Emile Heskey is the strike force that dreams are made of.

We've got a lot of time for Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon and his ambition to continue signing players who we thought were great in like... 2002.

After bringing Eidur Gudjohnsen back to the club – following spells at the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona - and snapping up everyone's favourite striker, Emile Heskey, last season, who would have thought he could have topped that with his latest signing... then he signed Shola Ameobi!

The Newcastle United cult hero made a name for himself for scoring goals for the Magpies against Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby, but now he's banging them in for Bolton.

And that's exactly what happened when he made his debut for the Trotters against Leeds United in the Championship on Saturday, and his effort sent Twitter into absolute meltdown.

Ameobi came on after just 12 minutes for Gary Madine and then, in the 34th minute, he opened his account for Bolton; here is the best reaction to it.
