The Gent pair are looking like good options for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur's recruitment strategy appears to have changed slightly from the time they spent big on the likes of Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela and Paulinho. That big spending summer failed to work, with most of the new arrivals flopping and not living up to expectations ... or price tags.
Now Spurs are targeting their transfer efforts much more concisely and are currently in the process of scouting several names.
This week it emerged they were scouting former Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard.
They claim that Spurs are still scouting Gent duo Laurent Depoitre and Moses Simon. The former is a strong centre forward who has worked his way up from the lower leagues in Belgium. He has scored seven goals in 13 games this season for Gent and the 26-year-old recently scored on his international debut for Belgium against Andorra.
Simon is a prestigious young talent. The 20-year-old can play on the wing or through the middle and has pace in abundance. He has also recently begun his international career in style, scoring twice in five appearances for Nigeria. His form this season has been indifferent, with no goals yet from 10 appearances, but at his age it is more than form Tottenham will be looking at.
It will certainly be interesting to see if Tottenham continue to pursue their interest in these two Belgian-based talents.
