The Villa boss has not thrived this season.
Aston Villa have lost again and the pressure on manager Tim Sherwood has never been more intense. He was being linked with the sack prior to today's meeting with Swansea City and now it looks like he could really be in danger of losing his job.
The result was his sixth defeat on the bounce in the Premier League and, if Sunderland win the Tyne-Wear derby tomorrow, they will be bottom of the table.
It is now being reported by the Daily Mail that Aston Villa will take the next 48 hours to decide the future of Sherwood - with many forecasting that the ex-Tottenham boss will be relieved of his duties.
At the end of last season he had Villa playing exciting and fast counter-attacking play. They lost plenty of star players in the summer, but also spent heavily on bringing in talent to improve the squad.
However they are struggling to live up to expectations and Sherwood is looking increasingly out of his depth.
It looks likely that Sherwood might be without a job come Monday and Villa's season is in danger of slipping away.
