Cole started his professional career at London giants Chelsea, but he failed to play regularly for the first team.
The 32-year-old joined West Ham from Chelsea in the summer of 2006 and played for them until the end of the 2014-15 season.
The Englishman scored 68 goals in 293 appearances for West Ham, including one in the 2011-12 Championship playoff final against Blackpool at London’s Wembley Stadium.
