Fulham are ready to axe manager Kit Symons should they lose to Reading this weekend, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Symons' future has been the subject of intense speculation for some time, following an indifferent start to the season.
Fulham have won just three of their opening 12 games and currently languish in 13th spot in the Championship table, four points above the drop zone.
The Cottagers endured a miserable campaign last season, narrowly avoiding relegation to League One, and Symons’ position at Craven Cottage has been under scrutiny
Symons took charge of Fulham last year on an interim basis following the sacking of Felix Magath before being handed the job on a permanent basis, but he has been unable to produce an upturn in fortunes and patience is thought to be wearing thin among the club's hierarchy.
Fulham spent big in the transfer market during the summer transfer window and had set their sights set on a promotion push this season, but currently find themselves off the pace at the top of the table.
Fulham officials are thought to be actively considering replacements for Symons and they could sack the Welshman as early as this weekend if they fall to defeat at home to in-form Reading.
