Henderson has played just two games for Liverpool this season.
Jurgen Klopp is working with the squad he has inherited at Liverpool to make them a better side, but Stuart Pearce has suggested to talkSPORT he has been unable to call upon one player who would be perfect for his system.
When discussing the players Klopp is missing, Pearce said: “I think Henderson as well, he didn’t play last night. He’s all energy, and I think he’s Klopp’s perfect type of player.”
Henderson is currently suffering form a metatarsal injury, which has kept him out of action since the second game of the season against Bournemouth.
The Reds captain, who was awarded the armband following Steven Gerrard’s departure, is arguably the most important player in the Liverpool squad, not just for his ability, but for the leadership and mentality he brings to the squad.
He may not be as talented as Philippe Coutinho, or score as many goals as Daniel Sturridge, but Henderson brings something to the Liverpool team that few players can.
Pearce suggests that Henderson will be a great player for Klopp, as he is the perfect type of player for the German boss’s system. He is energetic and has a great work rate, meaning he should be a great fit for the high pressing system that Klopp will look to incorporate at Anfield.
Klopp has been unfortunate with the injuries his inherited Liverpool squad have suffered in recent weeks, and Henderson is likely the player the German boss is missing the most.
