Former Sheffield Wednesday defender Andy Hinchcliffe said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning that he does not see a fruitful relationship between Steve Evans and Massimo Cellino at Leeds United.
Evans has been appointed as the new Leeds head coach following the dismissal of Uwe Rosler by club chairman Cellino earlier this week.
"Steve Evans and Massimo Cellino, I do not see that working at all," said Hinchcliffe. "Most managers at Leeds serving under Cellino struggle to stay in the job.
"I don’t think that Uwe should have lost his job - that was ridiculous - but Steve was available and I can see why Leeds have gone for him."
Cellino is a trigger-happy chairman who has already got rid of many as five managers in just 17 months at Elland Road.
Brian McDermott, Dave Hockaday, Darko Milanic, Neil Redfearn and Rosler have all failed to convince the Italian entrepreneur that they are the right man for the job in the long term.
Will Evans be able to prove himself to Cellino? Will the former Crawley Town and Rotherham United manager impress the Italian enough to remain in charge for the rest of the season and beyond?
Only time will tell.
